Sharing Time

I had a great couple of sessions presenting to Mrs. Michie’s high school science classes at the Academy of Science & Entrepreneurship in Bloomington this past week. I’ve presented there in the past and was glad to meet with two smallish classes – I think around 15 students each day. It is nice to meet with groups about that size so that people feel a little more comfortable asking questions and interacting with me.

We discussed the big picture of the fossil record, variety of things that fossilize, what typical fossils can be discovered here in Indiana and the training needed and job possibilities available in paleontology. Lots of good questions and pretty engaged high schoolers, especially since both days I was asked to present/share starting at 9:15 in the morning – often not when that age group is most fired up and ready to go. Thanks Academy for having me present again this year.
